Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you travel. Airlines and immigration will refuse you with less.

Your passport must have an expiry date at least 6 months after the date you arrive, and at least 2 blank pages.
You must have a visa to visit India, unless you are an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholder.
India publishes its document requirements per visa category rather than as one list, and they differ by category. We will confirm the exact list for your category before you submit anything.
Note. If you are a British national of Pakistani origin, or hold dual British and Pakistani nationality, you must apply for an Indian visa on your Pakistani passport, and processing times are substantially longer.
